Photojournalist Zahra Kazemi, who was arrested in Iran last June for taking pictures of a protest outside a prison and then died after being beaten by authorities, has received a posthumous award from the Canadian Association of Journalists. Kazemi's son, Stephan Hachemi, of Montreal, accepted the 2004 CAJ President's Award on behalf of his mother at its annual conference in Vancouver on Saturday. The award honours a Canadian journalist or media organization for exemplary contributions to journalism.
